MPD Export is the name of the co-operation between two extremely creative people: Esther S. Plomp and Pieter van der Werf. Since 1995 they are responsible for a series of acclaimed art- and theatre-projects. They work in various fields of the arts: business consultancy, pr and advertising, character design, exhibition design and more...
History and Now As artists they started MPD Export in 1995. Esther and Pieter could be found in Universities and Art Academies lecturing on 'the mix' of creativity and business administration. In the five following years they produced many art-projects inspired by 'the sea' (hence the name 'Maritime Production Division Export, short: MPD). 2001 was the year the two decided to specialize, each in their own field. Since then Esther, together with her sister Kirsten, draws and produces everything of Lassa (picturebooks and more for people age 2 and older!). See Lassa's website for fantastic online games, e-cards, and everything about the six picturebooks. Pieter 'went into' pr & advertising. He worked as events co-ordinator at the Groninger Museum for Contemporary Art. In 2003 and 2004 he ran a small ad agency, Van de Hoge, and until 2006 was responsible as brand manager for the development of Lassa (look at this! ) On contractbasis he can be hired for pr- and publicity-projects; see for another example of his skills the conference The Architecture of Hospitals, University Medical Center Groningen, The Netherlands.
