The Architecture of Hospitals is a project spanning already seven years in which the hospital of the future is being researched. It is an initiative of Frans C.A. Jaspers, MD, member of the board of directors of the University Medical Center Groningen, and of Cor Wagenaar, PhD, architectural historian and publicist.
The conference -bearing the same name "The Architecture of Hospitals" in April 2005- was a big succes and will have a European follow-up.

Pieter joined the conference team. His task: take the project to as many quality media as possible and arrange free publicity. Sub-task: support the sales-team of the conference. He started mid December 2004 and finished work a week after the conference in April.

Among others, his work resulted in "P 1" of the Science and Education-section of NRC Handelsblad, and an extensive and thorough article in De Architect. These he reckons are the little gems.

Journalist Walter van Hulst wrote a series of articles in ZorgVisie Facilitair, and one on the web site of ArchiNed.

European Hospital printed an article in February, in combination with a paid advertisement, and published a several page article in their design issue of July.

The Dagblad van het Noorden wrote about Charles Jencks' Maggie Project, and about a new hospital in the sea near the city of Delfzijl, a plan by Frans Jaspers and Skets Architectects, Groningen.
